Preliminary Results : Hanfu Meets AI: Who Will Rise to the Top?
When centuries-old traditional attire meets future technology, what kind of spark will fly? Since the launch of the 2026 “Baiyun Leather City Hanfu Culture” AI Short Video Competition, we have received an incredible array of submissions. Using AI as their brush and Hanfu as their ink, creators have painted a new chapter of Chinese style on the digital canvas. After a fierce and exciting round of competition, the list of finalists advancing to the semifinals has officially been announced.

This competition is proudly hosted by Baiyun Leather City, with the goal of exploring the fusion of traditional culture and modern AI technology. From the moment the call for entries went out, we could feel everyone’s passion for creation. Participants demonstrated not only a deep understanding of the beauty of Hanfu’s traditional forms, but also impressive command of cutting-edge AI tools. Through these works, garment after garment of Hanfu has been brought to life in entirely new ways, shaped by boundless imagination.
We’ve seen clever combinations of Hanfu and leather craftsmanship, as well as short films rich with narrative and distinctly Chinese aesthetic flair. These works go far beyond simple costume showcases — they are bold attempts to weave Hanfu culture into storytelling, imagination, and visions of the future. Every frame reflects the creators’ love for traditional culture alongside their curiosity for emerging technology, together forming a visual feast that bridges past and present.
